Comprehensive Car Interior Cleaning Tips

Comprehensive Car Interior Cleaning Tips

There is no need to break your budget to clean your car’s interior. In fact, there are many simple, affordable things you can do to make your car’s interior look great.

How to Clean Car Interior: Tips You Need to Know

When it comes to car interior cleaning, you get what you give. So, if you dedicate time and energy to clean your car’s interior, you can keep your vehicle’s interior in terrific shape.

Some of the best ways to maintain a clean car interior include:

1. Remove Trash

Trash can accumulate quickly inside your car, especially if you’re constantly on the go. From empty food containers and wrappers to assorted bags and papers, you need to remove these items from your car regularly. Otherwise, various trash can result in “mystery” odors and take up precious space inside your vehicle.

Oftentimes, it helps to spend at least a few minutes each day cleaning out your car. Because if you remove trash from your car daily, you can get in the habit of maintaining a clutter- and odor-free car interior.

2. Dust Your Car’s Interior

Keep a microfiber cloth or feather duster in your car, so you can periodically remove dust from your vehicle. Dusting your car’s interior usually only takes a few minutes to complete. Meanwhile, regular dusting ensures you can reduce the time it takes to perform a “deep” clean of your car’s interior.

3. Schedule a Deep Clean

A deep clean of your car’s interior should be scheduled approximately every one to two weeks. Remember, if you clean your car’s interior regularly, it will dazzle day after day. You can also use a deep clean of your car’s interior to ensure your interior won’t deteriorate any time soon.

4. Clean the Steering Wheel and Dashboard

Use a dry toothbrush or canned air to remove dirt, dust, and other debris from your car’s steering wheel and dashboard. In addition, use a damp microfiber cloth to remove dirt and germs from these areas.

5. Clean the Center Console

Clean your car’s center console in the same way you would clean your steering wheel and dashboard — use a dry toothbrush or canned air, followed by a damp microfiber cloth. Next, vacuum the center console to clean small crevices and cup holders.

6. Clean the Windows

Apply a window cleaner to each of your car’s windows. Then, use horizontal strokes to wipe down one side of a window and vertical strokes on the other.

If you need to remove stickers from the back window of your car, a combination of olive oil and baking soda is often effective. Apply a mix of olive oil and baking soda to the affected area of your car’s back window, let it sit for about 30 minutes, and scour the area with a non-scratch abrasive pad.

7. Clean the Carpet

Apply baking soda to your car’s carpet, and let it sit for approximately 30 minutes. You can then vacuum up the baking soda, along with any dirt, dust, and other debris on your carpet.

If you need to treat car carpet stains, use a car carpet cleaner. Follow the instructions on the car carpet cleaning product’s label to maximize the results.

How to Clean Car Seats: Tips You Need to Know

Cleaning car seats is sometimes challenging. If you know how to treat different car seat materials, however, you can streamline the process of cleaning your seats.

For cars with cloth seats, a combination of water, vinegar, and dish soap can deliver exceptional results. This combination can be sprayed onto stains and blotted with a wet microfiber cloth, and it helps quickly remove blemishes from car seats.

If you want to clean leather car seats, apply a combination of water and dish soap as needed. The water-dish soap mixture can be placed in a spray bottle, applied to your car seats, and wiped down with a microfiber cloth until they are completely dry.

Best Car Cleaning Products

As you prepare to clean your car’s interior, it often helps to seek out the best car cleaning products, and these include:

1. Meguiar’s X2000 Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel

Meguiar’s X2000 Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel is a high-quality microfiber towel that makes it easy to clean up a large surface area. This drying towel can absorb more water than a standard terry towel. Plus, it is machine-washable and made to last.

2. Stoner’s Invisible Glass Premium Glass Cleaner

Stoner’s Invisible Glass Premium Glass Cleaner is an ammonia-free glass cleaner that delivers outstanding results. The glass cleaner enables you to remove the thin layer of film that often builds on the interior of your car’s windshield. It also leaves a streak-free finish.

3. Pet Stain Eraser 2003T

The Pet Stain Eraser 2003T is an excellent choice for car owners who want to vacuum up wet spills and remove car interior stains. This vacuum works great on both upholstery and carpet. It even includes a bristle brush to help you remove tough stains.

4. Febreze Car Vent Clip

The Febreze Car Vent Clip helps you maintain an odor-free car. Once you finish cleaning your car’s interior, attach the Febreze Car Vent Clip to your vehicle’s air vent. And, the next time you activate your car’s A/C or heater, your car’s vent will disperse a pleasant scent throughout your vehicle.

Make it a priority to clean your car’s interior, and you can maintain a neat, tidy interior for years to come.
